    User tested this hub against many non-gaming hubs and the JCD403 was one of only two that preserved VRR (AMD FreeSync) through the HDMI 2.1 output — verified on a 2022 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 with an AMD GPU. The hub correctly translates the FreeSync metadata from the DP Alt Mode side of the USB4 tunnel to the HDMI side, avoiding the screen tearing most generic USB-C hubs induce when the frame rate drops below the monitor’s native refresh.
