Monitors confirmed for handhelds, consoles and laptops

Monitors are tied with docks as the largest category in this database (226 confirmed) and, together with capture cards, the only ones structurally open to PS5 and Xbox Series over their native HDMI output. 73 are confirmed for PS5 and 39 for Xbox Series — more console confirmations than every other category in this site combined. 157 are confirmed for notebooks, and handheld confirmations (60 Steam Deck, 29 ROG Ally, 16 Legion Go) trail well behind, since most handheld players use a monitor's HDMI port rather than USB-C.

"USB-C monitor" doesn't automatically mean it powers a handheld back. The Arzopa Z1FC goes further than most: enabling VRR above a 60Hz base refresh rate causes severe flickering and display corruption specifically on Steam Deck, capping stable operation at 1080p@60Hz with VRR active on that handheld.

Some USB-C monitors are power parasites rather than power sources. The ASUS ZenScreen MB166C has exactly one physical port — no HDMI, no separate power jack — and draws all of its own power from whatever host it's plugged into, visibly draining a handheld's battery faster during use rather than charging it.

HDMI and DisplayPort/USB-C aren't always equal on the same monitor. The ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACS has a narrower VRR window over HDMI (48-144Hz) than over DisplayPort or USB-C (48-180Hz) — reaching the panel's full range specifically requires avoiding the HDMI port.
