Adapters

Cable Matters 102021-BLK (Active DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 Adapter, 4K120Hz) is one of the products in the database.

About

Active DisplayPort 1.4 (male) to HDMI 2.1 (female) adapter from Cable Matters — converts DP to HDMI 2.1 FRL up to 4K@120Hz with HDR (community-verified; the 8K60 ceiling belongs to the sibling 102101 SKU and the official 102021 page still lists legacy 4K60 specs). VRR behavior depends on the host stack: works on Windows/AMD, but the community (r/linux_gaming) and Cable Matters support document flickering/blackouts under VRR on AMD Linux, so the adapter is not recommended for 4K@120 VRR on AMDGPU.

  • Legion Go

Reported working at 4K@120Hz VRR 4:4:4 10bit on a Legion Go 2 + AMD Radeon 9070 XT eGPU driving an LG CX 77 (FreeSync active) — on Windows. The same adapter is NOT recommended for VRR on AMD Linux (AMDGPU): Cable Matters support acknowledges flickering/blackout/color-cast issues with VRR, and the community PSA thread is titled 'Stop recommending the Cable Matters DP -> HDMI cable for 4k 120hz with VRR on AMD'.
